Every year the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance names its Best in Show and this year a 1934 Packard 1108 Twelve Dietrich Convertible Victoria took the crown. The Packard Twelve is considered as one of the finest automobiles produced by Packard and the judges felt this example stood out, even in such illustrious company. We’ve got to say, the news that the Porsche Panamera Hybrid (strictly speaking, the Porsche Panamera S Hybrid) is going to debut at the Geneva Motor Show in a couple of weeks time isn’t exactly a shock. After all, Porsche has made no secret of its plans to stick Hybrid gubbins in the Panamera; CO2 targets, and all that guff. But Porsche seems to think it is a surprise (unless they really have a surprise and are planning on revealing another Porsche hybrid altogether much sooner than we expected) as the press release we got in from Porsche has the enigmatic little tease of a headline – ‘Porsche: Hybrid world premiere’.
Jaguar XJ gets Sport Pack & Speed Pack options
With the new Jaguar XJ settling in nicely, Jaguar feel it’s time to give the bold new Jag a bit of a sporting makeover with the addition of a Sport Pack and Speed Pack to the XJ’s options. Already perhaps the most intrinsically sporty luxury car on the road, the XJ already conspires to look more aggressive and sporty than any other offering in the sector. It also, even with the 3.0 litre diesel engine, has performance that matches its looks.
